The Return to the Roots in 2018: Helping the Weavers of Mabilong

Renaming ourselves from “Laga, CA Circle” to “Kalingfornia Laga” is important because we acknowledge our deep commitment to improving the lives of weavers in Mabilong.
Over the years we have visited Mabilong, worked collaboratively on weaving projects, shared stories and raised funds to help the weavers of Mabilong. In 2018 we improved the washing area.
More recently we have begun a scholarship program to assist youth in their education, but with the primary purpose of these youth learning the art of laga.
It is our dream that laga is preserved, promoted, maintained and valued highly in its original home, Mabilong. We hope this effort encourages the weavers to pass their tradition to their children and we invite you to assist us in this effort.
