Shining a Special Spotlight on Our Supporters from 2012-Present

2012-Present
We are indebted to the Mabilong Weavers of Lubuagan and thank them for allowing us to share their heritage through the work of Jenny Bawer Young. In addition, we would like to thank Lily Kharrazi, Gerald Yoshitomo, Alliance for California Traditional Arts, the Creative Work Fund, Manilatown Heritage Foundation and KulArts for providing invaluable consultation and guidance for how to develop strategies for engaging the community in preserving traditional arts.

2012-2015 & 2019-2020 Alliance for California Traditional Arts (ACTA) in partnership with the Walter and Elise Haas Fund, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation & the James Irvine Foundation
Our gratitude towards the ACTA’s Master/Apprenticeship and Living Cultures Programs, which were instrumental in introducing the art of Kalinga laga to the San Francisco BayArea. Here’s what we’ve accomplished over the years through ACTA’s generosity:

  • Individual and group weaving sessions for adults and children held in Alameda, San Francisco, Sonoma, Santa Clara and San Mateo counties

  • Community weaving demonstrations SF Bay Area wide, reaching thousands of people

  • Collaborations with a variety of organizations, such as Manilatown Heritage Foundation, KulArts, Sama Sama, the Sonoma County Museum, Pistahan Festival and more!
